WMA BEST MASTERS RITA HANSCOM and GUIDO MÜLLER celebrated in style at the IAF Gala in Monte Carlo with the presentation of their awards by Lord Sebastian Coe. For the first time the presentation was formally on stage with announcers Marc Maury and Charmaine Crooks doing the honours amid great applause from those attending. The athletes as usual rubbed shoulder with the elites of world athletics and were congratulated by HSH Prince Albert 11 and IAAF President Lamine Diack who also congratulated them on their achievements. Following a successful IAAF World Championships in Berlin and a similarly successful WMA World Masters Championship in Lahti it was the ultimate celebration for our two masters on their achievement. Thanks to the IAAF, IAF and the organisational team for this most momentous occasion for our best masters and long may it continue. (01.12.2009)
